Day 100

“For God has done what the Law could not do, [its power] being weakened by the flesh [the entire nature of man without the Holy Spirit]. Sending His own Son in the guise of sinful flesh and as an offering for sin, [God] condemned sin in the flesh [subdued, overcame, deprived it of its power over all who accept that sacrifice].” (Rom 8:3, AMP).

Heb 9:12 says that through the death of Christ “with His own blood He entered the Most Holy Place once for all, having obtained eternal redemption”. As a result of the fact that Jesus stepped in as a substitute for the contract, all the law-based prescriptions of the Sinai covenant were fulfilled and the covenant was made null-and-void; it was replaced by a new covenant. There is, however, only one way that you can become part of this new covenant, and that is by being born again. We must accept the offer that Jesus made and unite it with faith. Then John 1:12-13 is true of you: “But as many as received Him, to them He gave the right to become children of God, to those who believe in His name; who were born, not of blood, nor of the will of the flesh, nor of the will of man, but of God.” This rebirth Col 2:11 calls: “the circumcision made without hands”.

The way to God has been opened through the new covenant and it is possible to have a living relationship with God.

In this new covenant you have NOTHING more to do with the covenant of Sinai. Rom 7:6 states it clearly: “But now we have been delivered from the law, having died to what we were held by, so that we should serve in the newness of the Spirit and not in the oldness of the letter.”

Why then in traditional churches is the law being spoken over believers Sunday after Sunday when we no longer fall under the law? Gal 5:4 makes this concerning statement: “You have become estranged from Christ, you who attempt to be justified by law; you have fallen from grace.” Get a big fright! Indeed, if righteousness comes through the law, then Christ died in vain (Gal 2:21)! Thus please tie Rom 10:4 to your heart: “For Christ is the end of the law for righteousness to everyone who believes.”

  • SelaA religious life is a life of law, not of relationship with God.
  • Read: Judg 10; Ps 100; Acts 10 (and praise the Lord that you are already at Day 100 J!)
  • Memorise: Acts 10: 34-35
  • Going deeper: Read chapter 7 in Arthur Pink’s The divine covenants.
