day 1075

“Come out of her, my people, lest you share in her sins, and lest you receive of her plagues.” (Rev. 2:4, NKJV)

The previous teaching concluded with a call to leave the institutionalised Babylonian church system. This call comes from Rev. 18:2-4: “And he cried mightily with a loud voice, saying, ‘Babylon the great is fallen, is fallen, and has become a dwelling place of demons, a prison for every foul spirit, and a cage for every unclean and hated bird! For all the nations have drunk of the wine of the wrath of her fornication, the kings of the earth have committed fornication with her, and the merchants of the earth have become rich through the abundance of her luxury.’ And I heard another voice from heaven saying, ‘Come out of her, my people, lest you share in her sins, and lest you receive of her plagues.’”

The great misunderstanding that occurs with this Scripture, as one finds with the entire book of Revelation, is that we have been taught to read it in a futuristic manner. [Read the teachings of Day 723-724 in this regard.] Babylon will not just suddenly arrive from somewhere one day, but is already a reality for believers, one that we deal with right now. As we arise within our full authority in Christ, Babylon slowly crumbles. Its manipulating structures oppose true spiritual authority. In the teaching of Day 1055 we made clear why calling only becomes manifest as you are obedient to the voice of God today. In Scripture this is presented as the symbolic “seventh day”, the day of the Sabbath rest of God, the day of rest in which ALL WORKS ARE COMPLETED, but this is only true for today. Your calling can only be fulfilled today. The rest for “the people of God” (Heb. 4:9), we pointed out in no uncertain terms, can only occur TODAY – without it we cannot function in our calling or purpose.

From the teaching of Day 298 we learnt that Babylon points to “confusion”, the fruit of carnal “double-mindedness” (see James 1:8 and 4:8). This brings about a self-righteous effort to minister to the god of this world, created in our “imaginations”  (Rom. 1:21; Luke 24:38; 2 Cor. 10:5), through a religion of works. Jesus says to all who are guilty in this regard: “I tell you I do not know you, where you are from. Depart from Me, all you workers of iniquity.” (Luke 13:27).

In the following teaching we will look at this important matter in greater detail.

  • Selah: Are you “double-minded”?
  • Read: Luke 7; Matt. 8:1-13.
  • Memorise: 8:12 (realise the dangerous synchronicity of this Scripture.)
