day 1334

“leaving the discussion of the elementary principles of Christ” (Heb. 6:1, NKJV)

Around the teaching of Day 1259 we started with the subsection concerning the corporate spirit of Zerubbabel. In an extensive manner sixteen characteristics of this corporate mantle have thus been examined. We started discussing the sixteenth characteristic in the teaching of Day 1286, and made a number of detours concerning important doctrinal subjects, like the misunderstanding of the thousand year reign of peace, and what it means to reign with Christ, as well as the so-called white throne judgment. 1 Pet. 4:17 stood out centrally in the last couple of teachings, namely the idea that judgment needs to start with the house of God. This lead us to the important revelation that this judgement is indeed the chastisement of the sons of God, and that it is through this chastisement that they acquire the godly nature, and continue to exist in glory. This was concluded with the New Testament perspective on how we, as the sons of God, should model our attitude and understanding of this matter on God’s perspective.

In the last teaching 1 John 2:18’s distinction of believers as children, sons and fathers was explained, and this lead to a broad overview of the three dimensions, a topic that is developed as your revelatory knowledge increases.

But the last teaching was specifically concerned with making a point about the so-called mythic “last hour” of which 1 John 2:18 speaks: “Little children, it is the last hour; and as you have heard that the Antichrist is coming, even now many antichrists have come, by which we know that it is the last hour.” When the “children” are addressed, we now have a much better conceptual understanding of whom is spoken to – this is not the sons or the father, but those who are very young in the faith! For THOSE are spelled out – it is now the last hour! This is a somewhat astonishing fact, and then we realise how long religion has kept this revelatory knowledge from us, that Heb. 5:12 is alas true about most of us: “For though by this time you ought to be teachers, you need someone to teach you again the first principles of the oracles of God; and you have come to need milk and not solid food.”

The children must learn this first principle of the faith: the great oppression is now, the antichrist is now, the judgment is now, the second coming is now, eternity is now, today, when I am obedient to His voice. The last element on the list of Heb. 6:1-2, which maps out “the elementary principles of Christ” was not a point of development where we should have gotten stuck, “not laying again the foundation of repentance from dead works and of faith toward God” instead learning about “the doctrine of baptisms, of laying on of hands, of resurrection of the dead, and of eternal judgment”. The spiritual child must already know and live these basic revelations. Selah.

  • Selah: Come to a realisation of what spiritual pampering does to us and our children.
  • Read: 1 Chr. 18-20.
  • Memorise: 1 Chr. 20:6 (what would the typology here entail?).
