“You send forth Your Spirit, they are created; and You renew the face of the earth.”
(Ps. 104:30, NKJV)
Back to Noah and the raven, and the dove.
When Noah opened the window of the ark he had built, at the end of forth days, he sent out THE raven “which kept going to and fro until the waters had dried up from the earth” (Gen. 8:7). Note that the raven did not return to the ark. Most theological commentaries argue that the raven, as bird of prey, probably settled on the remains of a human or animal, perhaps eating of it, and thus did not return, but this is the way natural man would understand these particulars. “But the natural man does not receive the things of the Spirit of God, for they are foolishness to him; nor can he know them, because they are spiritually discerned.” (1 Cor. 2:14). Spiritual man must discern all things in spiritual terms (verse 15). In the light of our study thus far the raven is clearly the symbolic correlate for the release of the seven-fold Spirit of God. Look at how the seven-folded pattern is established after this occurrence: “So it came to pass, at the end of forty days, that Noah opened the window of the ark which he had made. Then he sent out a raven, which kept going to and fro until the waters had dried up from the earth. He also sent out from himself a dove, to see if the waters had receded from the face of the ground. But the dove found no resting place for the sole of her foot, and she returned into the ark to him, for the waters were on the face of the whole earth. So he put out his hand and took her, and drew her into the ark to himself. And he waited yet another seven days [thus the dove was sent out seven days after the raven], and again he sent the dove out from the ark. Then the dove came to him in the evening, and behold, a freshly plucked olive leaf was in her mouth; and Noah knew that the waters had receded from the earth. So he waited yet another seven days and sent out the dove, which did not return again to him anymore.” (Gen. 8:6-12).
The beautiful symbolism of the dove with the olive branch in her mouth does not point to peace, as the symbol is understood worldwide. The dove (as symbol of the Holy Spirit) carries the symbol of the Christ in her mouth!
Read the teaching of Day 405-406 again, which point out that the olive tree of Rom. 11 does not point to Israel (the fig tree is their symbol.) The olive tree is clearly Christ, the Anointed. He is the Anointed (1 Sam. 2:35; Ps 2:2; Ps 45:7 and Heb. 1:9; Isa. 61:1 and Luke 4:18-19; Dan. 9:25). Jesus is the Root of the olive tree Christ: “I, Jesus … I am the Root and the Offspring of David, the Bright and Morning Star.” (Rev. 22:16). The root Jesus of the olive tree Christ’s branch is in the dove’s mouth! In the Anointed his anointed become “olive trees who stand beside the Lord,” “two gold pipes from which the golden oil drains” (Zech. 4); they become the prototypical witnesses of Rev. 11:4 who are sent to recreate all things. Ps. 104:30: “You send forth Your Spirit, they are created; and You renew the face of the earth.”
