day 1552

“Why do the nations rage, and the people plot a vain thing?”

 (Ps. 2:1, NKJV)

A fear of a globalist government is very common among many believers. BUT this does not necessarily mean that it will actually happen! Ps. 2:1’s question is however still valid today: “Why do the nations rage, and the people plot a vain thing?” It is repeated by the apostle in Acts 4:25, where the following is added: “The kings of the earth took their stand, and the rulers were gathered together against the Lord and against His Christ.”

Please realize at this point that the image that king Nebuchadnezzar saw in his dream, and that Daniel interpreted in such a historically correct manner, explained exactly this desire for a one world government which has persisted throughout the ages. (We followed this overview in detail throughout the last number of teachings.) The last earthly kingdom – of which we are historically speaking currently part of – which in the last image was represented by the feet made partly of iron and partly of clay (Dan. 2:33) – is also an earthly kingdom that is very divided, but where there is an intense striving toward one worldly organisation/government.

BUT as with the other four kingdoms, and to an even lesser extent than them, it is absolutely impossible to unite this kingdom, as clay and iron can, by definition, not cleave to one another! In chapter 2:41 & 43 Daniel clearly articulates this: “the kingdom shall be divided,” “iron mixed with ceramic clay … but they will not adhere to one another, just as iron does not mix with clay”. According to this prophecy a one-world government CANNOT exist!

It is important to keep in mind Daniel’s statement about leaders and leadership, which is clearly prophesied in the context of world leadership: “And He changes the times and the seasons; He removes kings and raises up kings; He gives wisdom to the wise and knowledge to those who have understanding. He reveals deep and secret things; He knows what is in the darkness, and light dwells with Him.” (Dan. 2:21-22).

The fact that believers have such an insatiable appetite for clandestine world events, that must be interpreted prophetically at all costs, especially from the Old Testament, and made to fit contemporary events, mostly based on underground or secret organisations, causes them to be focused on that, instead of “Jesus, the author and finisher of our faith” (Heb. 12:2). In Him, and not in world events or ecological crises, our faith finds completion. This is an immense comfort. Matt. 11:13 definitely deals with these future-oriented prophesies that believers want to apply to New Testament time: “For all the prophets and the law prophesied until John.” All of this has ALREADY been fulfilled in Jesus.

In addition to this we need to distinguish between fact and truth. Truth is, in its being, a Person, his Name is Jesus the Christ (John 14:6). All factual truth does however not carry His mark of Life. There exists truth that is not the Truth, and thus this truth brings death – not everything is helpful, or edifying (1 Cor. 10:23).
