day 1561

“… the power of His Christ …”

 (Rev. 12:10a, NKJV)

Faithful readers of these teachings would perhaps by now have realised why we’ve spent so much time speaking about the power of rhema words in community. It has obviously been in preparation of the overarching subtheme we are currently concerned with, and that the picture on the masthead of this teaching is clearly still the image king Nebuchadnezzar saw in a dream, and which the prophet Daniel declared as “what shall befall you in the last days” (Gen. 49:1).

From the teaching of Day 1541 onwards we’ve extensively written about the interpretations of this important dream over the course of history. We wrote about the five worldly kingdoms that represent the dream image of Nebuchadnezzar. The last kingdom that represents it is the one marked by “feet partly of iron and partly of clay” (Dan. 2:33).

The fifth kingdom, an “united nations,” would according to the prophet’s interpretation still partly retain the characteristic nature of Rome’s iron hard relent, but would become mixed with a completely different substance: brittle clay. The image’s feet are thus presented as iron mixed with clay, and Dan. 2:41 makes clear that “the kingdom shall be divided”. Verse 42 notes that “the kingdom shall be partly strong and partly fragile”. In the previous teachings, we pointed out that this divided kingdom of ten groups are known, in overarching terms, as Europe. The symbolism of iron and clay points to a mixing of civilian power and Christian reign. Through the image king Nebuchadnezzar saw, God already spelled out for us how He will establish the Christian faith through civilian power, but that it would alas not been pure, but contaminated and mixed.

The last earthly kingdom – of which we historically form part of – is also an earthly kingdom which is very divided, but where there is an intense striving towards uniting everyone under one leader/organisation/government. BUT to a far lesser extent than with the other four kingdoms it is absolutely impossible to unite this kingdom, as iron and clay can, by definition, not cleave to one another. According to this prophecy there CANNOT be a one world government!

From the teaching of Day 1553 the better way was pointed out: “Now salvation, and strength, and the kingdom of our God, and the power of His Christ have come.” (Rev. 12:10a), and how it will eventually increase the knowledge of the gospel of Christ across the entire earth. It is undeniably clear that this glorious process is nestled in the secret power of the rhema words of Christ and their community with one another! The sixth kingdom that king Nebuchadnezzar saw declares this new dispensation.
