“The first man was of the earth, made of dust;
the second Man is the Lord from heaven.”
(1Cor. 15:47, NKJV)
The previous teaching was widely welcomed by readers as a very great empowering step in the path of their unfolding calling. We are currently concerned with the revelation that quail symbolise the negative part of your high calling. The counter of what God has decreed regarding your identity and life, is used in the darkness to oppose you. That which opposes you, is the culmination of what we can call the adversary. To our surprise the unfolding of our calling commences with a short period of suffering, which is especially caused by one’s opponents, and this includes people and spirits/demons. This short period is however not qualified in terms of time, but with the knowing that if we are walking in God’s will, He will help us at the right time (Gal. 6:9; Heb. 4:16; 1Pet. 5:6). It is thus a collective experience to which everyone who has been called must be exposed to.
Last week we pointed out that the word suffering obviously has a negative meaning, but also a positive one. The AMP for instance presents it as “will Himself complete and make you what you ought to be”. The latter is only possible if you are willing to identify yourself with Him to such an extent that you partake of His suffering (2Cor. 1:7). Just like the Israelites, you can choose how long you remain in the desert or wilderness – it is determined by your obedience! The suffering, both positive and negative, is the manifestation of God WITHIN YOU, through being newly positioned with regards to your original calling. Circumstances, habits, exposure, traditions, and ways of thinking have all established you in a certain way up until now. But in Christ ALL things must be made new (2Cor. 5:17).
The adversary is the spirit of the antichrist, that which takes up the PLACE OF CHRIST in you and your life, which prevents that the “day of Christ” occurs today. We are misled by the adversaries; and their primary goal is to reveal “the man of sin” WITHIN US, in other words the dark identity which the world and the princes of the world have conspired to present as our identity. We learnt that through the appearance of Jesus in our everyday reality He destroys our adversaries with His Spirit and/or the rhema-words (the breath of his mouth). There is thus a similar parousia of evil, too, where these adversaries oppose the believer’s true identity.
In this concept it becomes clear that the rhema-words of others, like the manna, nourishes you, fulfils your needs, and gives you spiritual life. The counter of the rhema-words, which we are going to call rimmah-words, do the opposite – they tap your anointing, feed your carnal or natural man, strengthen your negative human nature, has you crave that which you should not, makes you sick, depressed, and brings spiritual death over you.
In short, as we earlier made clear: manna has the attribute of day/light, and quail have the attribute of night/darkness, and this gains a foothold within you.
