Day 241

“Now to Abraham and his Seed were the promises made. He does not say, “And to seeds,” as of many, but as of one,, “And to your Seed,” who is Christ. ”

 (Gal 3:16, NKJV)

The next question to consider is that if the male sperm came directly from God, that no seed from the lineage of Abraham and David was part of Christ. Yet the Scripture stated above makes it clear that God made certain promises to Abraham and his seed, and Paul declares that that seed is not of a plural nature, but is only One: Christ. Carefully read the promise that God made to Abraham in Gen 12:3 – “I will bless those who bless you, and I will curse him who curses you; and in you all the families of the earth shall be blessed.”

  • Gen 12:7: “And the LORD appeared unto Abram, and said, Unto thy seed will I give this land …”
  • Gen 13:15-16: “For all the land which thou seest, to thee will I give it, and to thy seed for ever. And I will make thy seed as the dust of the earth: so that if a man can number the dust of the earth, then shall thy seed also be numbered.”
  • Gen 15:5: “Look now toward heaven, and tell the stars, if thou be able to number them: and he said unto him, So shall thy seed be.”
  • Gen 17:7-8: “And I will establish my covenant between me and thee and thy seed after thee in their generations for an everlasting covenant, to be a God unto thee, and to thy seed after thee. And I will give unto thee, and to thy seed after thee …”
  • This is continued in Gen 21:12; 22:17-18; 26:3-4; Gen 28:13-14; Gen 49:10, among others.

Despite these continuous promises made to Abraham God also declared this fact to David in no uncertain terms – “You shall not fail to have a man sit before Me on the throne of Israel, only if your sons take heed to their way, that they walk before Me as you have walked before Me.” (1 Kings 8:25). Ps 132:11 states that “The LORD has sworn in truth to David; He will not turn from it: “I will set upon your throne the fruit of your body.”

In Isa 9:6-7 we find a prophecy about Christ, verse 7 stating that He will sit “upon the throne of David and His kingdom”, which is indeed confirmed by Luke 1:32-33 – “He will be great, and will be called the Son of the Highest; and the Lord God will give Him the throne of His father David. And He will reign over the house of Jacob forever, and of His kingdom there will be no end.”

These are all explicit promises. But if there were no male chromosomes from the lineage of Abraham and David involved in Christ’s conception, what transpired to ensure God’s promise being kept?
