“our old man was put to death on the cross with Him”
(Rom 6:6, BBE)
In Gen 3:15 Yahweh had already suggested the possibility that Satan’s plans with the world and humanity would be stopped. He says to the snake – “And I will put enmity between you and the woman, and between your seed and her Seed; He shall bruise your head, and you shall bruise His heel.” The history of the world was then concluded as a history of the seed – one of who gives birth to what. From the seed of the woman (as was discussed in detail in Day 238-240), a person would be born in the “fullness of time” (Gal 4:4), and He would “crush Satan under your feet shortly” (Rom 16:20). This person is Yeshua, God who became flesh (Gal 3:16; 1 John 4:2-3).
After the devil had beguiled Adam and Eve into disobedience, he was also cursed by God – “So the Lord God said to the serpent: ‘Because you have done this, you are cursed more than all cattle, and more than every beast of the field; on your belly you shall go, and you shall eat dust all the days of your life.’” (Gen 3:14). The devil, the large dragon, the old snake (Rev 12:9) could from now on only exist off of the dust of the fallen man (Gen 3:19), and was in other words that which allowed him to live. And only through man’s fallen flesh will his seed be multiplied. Sela.
It is important that we understand that in the promise of the coming Messiah, Isa 9:6-7 had also explicitly stated that his coming would lead to “the increase of His government”. The cross was the turning point which led to a new epoch in history. Satan’s claims on the world (Matt 4:8; 1 John 5:19) were rendered moot. At the cross God ended this feud (Eph 2:16). Through the cross God, “disarmed principalities and power, He made a public spectacle of them, triumphing over them” (Col 2:15), “having wiped out the handwriting of requirements that was against us, which was contrary to us. And He has taken it out of the way, having nailed it to the cross” (Col 2:15).
Your old carnal person, which Satan had fed off, and which he sowed with fear and plundered from, has already been nailed to the cross. Rom 6:6 (BBE): “Being conscious that our old man was put to death on the cross with Him, so that the body of sin might be put away, and we might no longer be servants to sin.”
If this had then already taken place when Yeshua was crucified (along with your old flesh, against the cross), you have to “put off the old man with his deeds”, and “put on the new man who is renewed in knowledge” (Col 3:9-10).
Please take note, and grab a hold of this truth – THE ONLY WAY IN WHICH SATAN CAN INFLUENCE YOU IS THROUGH MISLEADING YOU ABOUT HIS POWER IN YOUR LIFE AND THROUGHOUT YOUR WORLD.
- Sela: Renew your inner man with this knowledge.

of the believer who wants to operate within his calling, but is persecuted by the religious systems of the world.
