day 800-802

“they became futile and godless in their thinking [with vain imaginings, foolish reasoning, and stupid speculations] and their senseless minds were darkened” (Rom 1:21, Ampl.)

Before we get to a few common practicies that grant familiar spirits access to people, we will first look at an interesting case of synchronicity. [The term synchronicity was coined by psychoanalyst Gustav Jung in his writings about the collective unconscious. It explains the phenomenon where different people across the world have the same revelation/experience/ discovery, etc.]

While writing this subsection about the kundalini, an interesting article appears in the Afrikaans daily newspaper Beeld. The article is concerned with the conservation of white lions in the Timbavati nature reserve, and with their conservationist, Linda Tucker. A closer reading of the article by Williemien Brümmer: Hoeder van die wit leeu (Guardian of the White Lion) (http://www.beeld.com/By/Nuus/Hoeder-van-die-witleeu-20111202) is an excellent demon-stration of how the kundalini spirit creates a particular energy and that it can start a movement which is not God-driven (Deut 32:17). The result of this is spelled out in Rom 1:21.

Remember – this is a normal article about conservation which is published in an ordinary newspaper. It is concerned with the amazing task of protecting the white lion in the Tsau!- conservation area, about 35 km from Hoedspruit (South Africa), in the Global White Lion Protection Trust (WLT). The project is driven by Linda Tucker, a former model and Cambridge graduate who swopped her designer dresses for the Bushveld. Ever since a spiritual experience in 1991, she became the keeper of the white lion, thus the title of the article.

Apart from the information about the conservation initiative and the subsequent eco-tourism, Brümmer’s article explores, in a brilliant manner, much more than just the conservation of the albino lion.

Early on in the article there are already hints at the New Age consciousness that informs the conservation initiative: “When Willemien found her way to the place where the ‘most holy animal in Africa’ is found, she came across a former model who helps astrologers decipher the mystery of the white lion. This lion, she was told, represents ‘our Higher Self, our fate, our survival’. Thus says the signs …” The use of the words “most holy animal”, “astrologers”, “mystery”, “Higher Self” and “fate” places the conservation action very clearly within the context of the kundalini.

The article starts as follows: “Can we all meditate?” asks Maurice Fernandez, an astrologer from Hawaii. His group, pilgrims and astrologers from the corners of the earth, avert their eyes … Two white lions … stare at us with their green-blue eyes as if greeting us, then walk on. For many they are living myths. Credo Mutwa, traditional healer, writer and controversial African prophet, considers these cats to be ‘celestial animals’, ‘as old as life itself’. Approximately 400 years ago they ‘returned as prophets of a new era’. It’s not coincidental that the old Tsonga word Timba-vaati means ‘the place where something descended to Earth’, says Credo. A star thus descended during the reign of the rain queen Numbi. A God, a being of pure light, emerged and called the queen to heaven. ‘It was observed, many years after Numbi’s disappearance, many years after the strange star had come to Earth, that all animals in this area gave birth to snow white descendants,’ reads his story in Tucker’s book Mystery of the White Lions, Children of the Sun God.” There are a few general remarks one could make about this paragraph:

  • The call to meditation by the astrologer should, for most readers of these teachings, already signal that we are in the domain of the kundalini, the false holy spirit. (In the previous teaching we spoke about astrology in relation to astronomy, and will return to this in a later teaching.) Meditation is a practice through which “the mind is cleared”, a state of consciousness in which the practitioner reaches a state of rest through visualisation and mantras. This emptying of the thought process is however an unnatural emptying of the consciousness so that the unconscious or subconscious can carry you away in a mystic stream. Alas not many practitioners realise that during such transcendental meditation (also known as TM), even through contemplative prayer, there is a great possibility for the soul dimension in its passive state to be infiltrated by demonic spirits. Please realise that this formula is not neutral, but religious in nature. When the Word speaks about meditation (for instance in Ps. 63:6; 77:15; 119:15, 27, 148; 145:5) it is NEVER a passive action, but a thoughtful pondering of the Word, God’s promises or his characteristic nature.
  • Credo Mutwa can be considered as the continent’s head sangoma. From my experience with him at his former home at the Lotlamoreng Dam in Mafikeng, I was told that he could survive under water for as long as six months at a time. He obtains most of his power from sacrifices to water spirits. He can, from our view-point, be considered as one of the most powerful occultists in the world. His theory about the white lion, one can easily see, is based on the mythology of the sun god of the pagans and druids, with a clear influence of Luciferian philosophy (which claims that Lucifer Morning Star is actually the king of the world). The metaphors he uses for the white lion (like “descending to earth” is clearly an attempt to liken this grouping to the Bride of Christ which descends as the New Jerusalem (Rev. 21:2 & 10).
  • One can easily misread it, but the white lions are referred to as “prophets of a new era”.
  • The repeated use of the word star, in relation to the lions in establishing their metaphysical nature, is clearly an attempt to liken the lions to the Bride of Christ, which is also referred to as “stars” in the Scripture (Dan. 12:3; Prov. 4:18; 1 Cor. 15:40-42; Rev. 1:20), and Jesus as the true Morning Star (Rev. 22:16).

The article reports how those involved with the project consider the Timbavati area as “holy ground”. The “initiated” can attend workshops here about esoteric subjects such as “evolutionary astrology” or “inter-species communication”. But the first activity the journalist is exposed to during her visit, is particularly insightful – “During my visit they gathered before sunrise every morning for Kundalini yoga, and the Sunday afternoon they spent repeating, mantra-like, the name of the dead matriarch of the pride, Marah, while spinning around cross-legged.” Here the source of the energy behind the entire conservation action is mentioned in passing as part of the morning ritual: kundalini. Note that it is part of certain ritualised actions of repeating mantras that is calling a dead lion to life! Clearly this lion is juxtaposed with “the lion of Judah” (Gen. 49:9; Hos. 5:14; Rev. 5:5) – Jesus Christ. [One could make an entire study of the comparison between the white lion and the white clothing of the Ancient of Days, which, for instance, is described as “His garment was white as snow, and the hair of His head was like pure wool” (Dan. 7:9).]

The history of how Linda Tucker became involved with the white lion is covered in detail. In short it is about the transferral of a spiritual mantle (it is clearly referred to as such) through an incident long ago where a shaman, Maria Khosa, the “Lion Queen of Timbavati”, unexpectedly walked amidst the lions, in a trance, towards Tucker. When she returned to the farm Maria gave Tucker her spiritual name: Keeper of the White Lion. Note how the kingdom of darkness also works with mantles and spiritual fatherhood. Maria says to Tucker: “you are my daughter, given by the stars, and you will wear my mantle”.

But the mystery intensifies: The inherited land of the white lions, says Tucker, is on the Nile-meridian, “where life on earth was first observed and gold was first found”. This meridian (on the latitude 31° 14 minutes East) stretches from the pyramids and the sfinx at Giza, through the equator, parts of East-Afrika, the ruins of Greater Zimbabwe and Timbavati”. All New Age activities is always linked to Egypt and the sun god Ra.

Tucker believes that “the white lions bring the same message as Christ – that the ‘Lion of God’ places a choice before humanity”. When Tucker heard that the white lion cub, which had been born just before the new millennium on Christmas Day in Bethlehem (in the Free State), she saw it as a sign from Above. Hesistantly she notes – “I contacted Maria and Credo Mutwa, and he said, ‘This is the lion cub Africa has waited for.’ He baptised her Marah, mother of Rah.” The trust is however now in mourning after a warthog’s tunnel collapsed and she died. “I do find some solace in the fact that there is something symbolic about her death over the Easter period,” Tucker states.

The link made between Jesus and the lions is undeniably clear.

This whole action, in Tucker’s words, “basically tries to convey the spirit of the white lion” to the poor communities, “where many of the children have no prospects or even parents, and no hope for the future. The Primary School Makgahlishe in Buffelshoek is one of these “celestial schools” and forms part of the trust’s outreach program. On the walls one finds paintings of rainbow-coloured lions, celestial lions and the trust’s symbol, the griffin. During the visit of the journalist the astrologers sat in a half-moon, and the children presented a concert with life-sized dolls of white lions, elephants and giraffes from recycled material. At night they recite poetry, written by a teacher, Helen Monareng: “Greater Timbavati, although you are very small, from you the King of Kings was born: the White Lion. You are like Bethlehem where the King of kings was born: Jesus Christ, the Lion of Judah. Jump out of the cage young strong white lion, because Linda Tucker has broken the cage and chains. Now you are free like Tata Mandela, the father of our nation.” One does not need much education in esoteric lore to notice the witchcraft of this scenario, and how an entire nation are binded into this false mythology.

That night a journalist accompanies the group to Mafunyani, a traditional Shangaan village where aspects of the culture is recreated for tourists. Maria Khosa’s cousin, Matimba Khosa, take them to a hut where Maria’s sangoma sister, Sarah Khosa, is throwing bones. Matimba interprets, and Tucker helps with the translation. “there is a message from the Lion sisters,” they say. “the sisters are very glad about your visit and your support. The lions were far away from their motherland for a very long time.” The astrologers’ visit occured with the Times of Revelation. The Friday was the 11th of the 11th of the 11th – according to Linda “a turning point in the evolution of humanity”.  It is one of the big markers that is also part of the Mayan calendar.”

Syncretism (the mixing of religions) is part of kundalini. This article in a secular newspaper shows just how spiritual, and dangerous, these types of initiatives are. There is likewise many initiatives within the Christian world where kundalini energy is incorporated into, for instance, prayer and meditation, seen for instance in Philip St. Romain’s book Kundalini Energy and Christian Spirituality. The danger of this cannot be underestimated. We do not need any kundalini energy. Joh 14:17: “the Spirit of truth, whom the world cannot receive, because it neither sees Him nor knows Him; but you know Him, for He dwells with you and will be in you”.

  • Selah:  Are there traces of the kundalini in your spiritual experience?
  • ReadRev. 21-22 (Congratulations! You have now read through the Bible four times!)
  • Examine the OT-typology: Rev. 22:16 (Tip: Num. 24:17).
