Jesus’ blood is at the core of God’s plan for the salvation of mankind. His blood should then necessarily have been without any uncleanliness, curses or contamination. But, Jesus was born of a flesh and blood woman, thus his blood should naturally have been infected, like all of us who were born in iniquity, and conceived by his mother in sin (Ps. 51: 5)?

The study of DNA is a subdivision of genetics, a scientific field which studies descendancy, and the manner through which genes transfer information from one generation to another. In each cell of the body is the unique genetic code of the individual’s unique being. Complex combinations of DNA form the chromosome pairs in each cell. Mitochondria is DNA transmitted from one generation to the next. Mitochondria is transmitted only by the mother to the baby, and therefore the baby will be able to inherit the mother’s mitochondria only. For this reason, the genetic code of DNA can only be traced by the woman/mother, not the man/father – a forensic fact. Thus Jesus had to receive the mitochondria of Maria’s DNA to be conceived as a human being. Indeed, the seed of a woman was indispensable in making his life possible (Gen. 3:15). (For this reason Gen. 3:20 refers to Eve as the mother of all the living!) It is only in this context that Heb. 10: 5 could become a reality – in this miraculous manner, God as Spirit became a body of flesh in Jesus. In Heb. 2:13, Jesus speaks of the “children” given to him: “I and the children God has given me.” In verse 14, the author of the book of Hebrews then wrote this comment: “Therefore, since the children share in flesh and blood, He Himself likewise also partook of the same … “In the KJV it reads as follows:” Forasmuch then as the children are partakers of flesh and blood, he also himself also took part of the same … ” The Greek word for “partakers”, which refers to the children of Adam, is “koinoneho”, meaning “to fully partake”. The words “took part”, referring to Jesus, is the Greek word “metecho”, which means “to take part but not all”. Jesus shared the flesh of Adam (by Mary), but not his contaminated blood at all! In his book, The Chemistry of Blood, dr. M.R. De Haan explains: “The blood that flows in an unborn babe’s arteries and veins is not derived from the mother but is produced within the body of the fetus. Yet it is only after the sperm has entered the ovum and the fetus begins to develop that blood appears.” Absolutely no blood of the mother is supplied to the embryo and fetus! Therefore, Mary could contribute the egg without Adam’s contaminated blood! For this reason, Paul named Him “the man Jesus Christ” (Rom. 5:15), “being born in the likeness of men “(Phil. 2:7b-8), but “without sin “(Heb. 4:15). Thus, Jesus’ blood was clean, in the absence of a better term, without curses, diseases, genetic defects, yes, without death. For we know that although life is in the blood (Lev. 17:11, KJV), the blood is also the carrier of sickness and death. Thus, Jesus’ blood was completely uncontaminated, as it is stated in 1Pet. 1:19, “without blemish or spot”.
