BIBLICAL BRIEFS 37
In Eph. 5:32, Paul calls this special relationship between a man and a woman a great mystery. The mystery specifically entails that “they shall become one flesh”. Jesus also emphasises this: “He answered, “Have you not read that he who created them from the beginning made them male and female, and said, “Have ye not read, that he who made them from the beginning made them male and female, and said, For this cause shall a man leave his father and mother, and shall cleave to his wife; and the two shall become one flesh? So that they are no more two, but one flesh. What therefore God hath joined together, let not man put asunder. “(Matt. 19:4-6). However, this one flesh is also possible with someone different than your legal husband/wife: “Or do you not know that the one who joins himself to a prostitute is one body with her? For He says, “The two shall become one flesh.” (1 Cor. 6:16-17). This pronouncement of Jeus is a very strong statement with enormous implications – divorce does not necessarily points to the legal concept of the term. From a spiritual point of view, but actually, also from a physical point of view, two things that are joined by God may NEVER, UNDER NO CIRCUMSTANCE, be separated. This means that, for example, in this case, where God glued the married couple together, no break CAN take place, even if those persons move away from one another. An analogy may contribute to a better understanding in this regard – if the hydrogen (man) and the oxygen (woman) in water (the marriage) separate, the mystery of their unity as water could not be broken up into the original gases at all. The entanglement of marriage has been designed by God with Mal. 2:15 as front: “he was seeking a godly offspring”. The irrevocable one-ness of husband-and-wife absolutely determines the offspring and is responsible for the eternal inheritance of those descendants. Quantum physics has taught us that the smallest particles are entangled to such an extent that they effectively make up two parts of the same entity. These two particles now, after association, collectively share another identity which is irrevocable. Interestingly enough, this connection between the particles’ connective mystery acts faster than the speed of light! Quantum intertwinement is the ability of two particles to remain intimately connected to one another, even if they are separated from one another over long distances. This is what Einstein called the ghost-effect which particles exercise toward one another, even if they are separated from one another. This characteristic of quantum physics is also one of the markers that can clearly be applied in studying human relationships. Sexuality as a very flame of God (SoS. 8: 6) plays an enormous role in the formation of this quantum proportion. The release of certain brain chemicals when there is a physical attraction between people, allow matters to progress until they culminate in sexual intercourse. The resulting excessive release of chemicals create as it were, a real bond between those concerned who are building on a common being in which both persons are entangled. Although it involves much more, this is an implication of sexual unification. It does NOT bring along soul ties, as is popularly referred to. As a result of this, it is of utmost importance that we consider the direction in Heb.13: 4 very seriously: “Let marriage be kept honourable in every way, and the marriage bed undefiled. For God will judge those who commit sexual sins, especially those who commit adultery.” The implications for the breach of promise are terribly extensive and require subsequently supernatural recovery and restoration.
