There are several ethnic religions in the world: the black liberation theology, the Klu Klux Clan and Nazism, among others, all have race at the core of their theology. An ethnic religion rapidly gaining ground is the British Israelism. This community of faith originated in Britain, and assigned themselves and their descendants an eternal position as “the chosen people of God”. This movement relies heavily on Gen. 3:15, which according to them makes a distinction between the seed of God and the seed of the serpent. On this basis there are the children of the woman (who are called children of God, or Israel) and the children of the serpent (who are strictly spoken children of Satan, and therefore unable to come to salvation). Because all the black and yellow races descend from Ham, they are doomed and unredeemable. In Hebrew, the word for Ham means ‘dark of the sun’, and in the Egyptian language it means ‘black’. Ham is therefore called “the settler in hot Africa”. Noah cursed the descendants of Ham (whom they believe are blacks) to everlasting servanthood and/or slavery (Gen. 9: 25-27). This religion therefore believe that non-white people do not have souls (they actually mean spirits), and they are therefore classified as animals. The Messiah only came for the “lost sheep of the house of Israel” (according to them NOT the Jews, whom they regard as a hybrid of the Edomite’s, also then irredeemable). Only those of the true origination of the seed of God can be saved. They furthermore believe that the Anglo-Saxon Celtic nations are the ten lost tribes of Israel, the northern tribes of the historical Israel, whom were taken captive and dispersed throughout the world. As a result of the dispersion of the 10 tribes of Israel, all ‘true whites’ worldwide are therefore none other than the scattered tribes of old. They argue that white groups in Britain, the USA, Australia, New Zealand, North West Europe, South Africa, and some other odd places, form these lost tribes. Their view is that the British kingship is a direct continuation of the House of David and that these nations will form the national foundation of the Kingdom of God on earth. According to them, Jesus will return to earth to govern over these white people in his new kingdom on earth, and it will be based specifically in London as a capital, according to them, the concrete New Jerusalem. This white kingdom’s rule will be executed on a political, legal and military plane. The apostle Peter describes this types of reasoning as consisting of “cleverly devised tales” (2Pet 1:16). The British Israelism They do not recognize Paul’s epistles in the Bible because he stated in Rom 10: 12-13: “For there is no distinction between Jew and Greek; for the same Lord is Lord of all, abounding in riches for all who call on Him …”, and “Whoever will call on the name of the Lord will be saved.” Behind all ethnic beliefs, there is a spirit of racism, and this spirit is driven by a spirit of fear. Paul clearly spells it out in 1Tim. 1:4, that we should not “pay attention to myths and endless genealogies, which give rise to mere speculation rather than furthering the administration of God which is by faith”. Three Scriptures clearly show how perverted and twisted the basic principles of this movement is. The first is in Acts 17:26: “and He made from one man every nation of mankind to live on all the face of the earth, having determined their appointed times and the boundaries of their habitation”. And then Rev 5: 9, praising Jesus for his work of salvation and thus spells out: “Worthy are You to take the book and to break its seals; for You were slain, and purchased for God with Your blood men from every tribe and tongue and people and nation.” And then the trump card: As Moses’ Sephora was black (Num. 12: 1), the Bride in Song of Songs is unveiled prototypically as a Shulamite, “dark and lovely” (Rev. 1: 5, GW)!
